The best way to describe Kate was that she is my "Peter Pan" of the labrador family!  She had a side of her that always said "I won't grow up"!  She always seemed to be can be dancing to her own tunes with a favorite toy, stick or jumping in for a swim any chance she gets on a walk!  Over the years we've had much success in the obedience ring and rally ring - she has been a fun dog to work and is an extremely smart girl!!   She took a few years off from competition being a busy a mom dog and jumped right back into competitive Obedience and Rally.  In 2011 at the LRC of Potomac she earned her Rally Advanced Title along with 2 legs toward her CD.  Then at the Pioneer Valley LRC Specialty she followed up with earning 2 legs toward her Rally Excellent Title.  In July she then earned the 3rd legs for both her CD and Rally Excellent Titles at the Woodstock Dog Club show in Vermont!  She really made me smile and I'm proud of her accomplishments!  It took a few years of working on the RAE title but I'm proud to announce she earned her RAE title 10/31/15!  A bit of trivia regarding Kate - you may have read about one of her  daughters -  "Lenore".  She is the 'love dog' that author John Katz has written about  in his Bedlam Farm Journal and in his books "Izzie & Lenore: Two Dogs, an Unexpected Journey, and Me" and "Meet the Dogs of Bedlam Farm.

Kate will always be in my heart!
